Welcome to the Micah Network

Who are we?

The Micah Network is a group of 300 Christian relief, development and justice organisations from 75 countries. Micah Network was formed in 1999 with the aims to:

1. Build capacity

Strengthen the capacity of participating agencies to make a biblically-shaped response to the needs of the poor and oppressed

2. Encourage integral mission

Speak strongly and effectively regarding the nature of the mission of the Church to proclaim and demonstrate the love of Christ to a world in need

3. Advocate

Prophetically call upon and influence the leaders and decision-makers of societies to "maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed and rescue the weak and needy".

Micah Network has a strong representation from Southern based agencies. Many of our agencies appreciate the opportunity that Micah Network provides for Northern and Southern based agencies to join together as equals as they strive to achieve the above aims.

What do we do?

  • Hold regional and international workshops on issues relevant to relief, development and justice organisations
  • Facilitate networking and information sharing between member organisations
  • Dialogue with the wider church about integral mission
  • Facilitate regional and international advocacy initiatives from time to time
