Matthew currently serves as the Chief Executive of Tearfund.
Matthew has extensive overseas experience, having worked with international relief organisation Medair, first in Somalia where he was responsible for managing finance and leading three public health teams working across the North East of the country; and secondly as county director for Afghanistan where he established and directed Medair’s aid programme, which included winter relief distributions, management of hospitals and the reconstruction of homes and public infrastructure.
Matthew has an MA in Economics from Cambridge and an MBA from IMD, Lausanne. He is married to Katherine and they have four young children. They attend Holy Trinity Church, Claygate, which is in Surrey.
