Social Concern Workshop

Do we understand social concern in the light of the Bible? Or do we read the Bible in light of God’s mission, of which social concern is an integral part of his mission?

Our mission means our committed participation as God’s people, at God’s invitation and command, in God’s own mission within the history of God’s world for the redemption of God’s creation. (Chris Wright, The Mission of God, p.23)

This workshop seeks to help our understanding of God’s character as seen in the Bible and its expression through his engagement with people throughout history. It will explore social concern from God’s perspective and inform us on the why, how and who should be involved.

The aim of the workshop is to:

- Ensure we are rooted in God’s Word

- Give us an integral mission framework for engaging in issues of concern in our community, our nation and globally.

Workshop Facilitator / Presenter:

Rev Kennedy Dhanabalan, CEO EFICOR, India. Member of the Micah Network Asia Regional Coordination Group.

This workshop is for mission and aid agency workers, local churches and colleges.
