Strategic Change in 2020

A special New Year greeting from Micah Global!

We are writing with an important update about some changes that will be happening at Micah in the coming months.

As many of you will know, the Micah Global Board took time in 2019 to prayerfully consider member feedback and to listen to our stakeholders’ priorities in order to develop a new strategic plan that seeks to take Micah Global into a new season of work. As part of the outworking of this new plan, the Board also considered the resourcing required to deliver the new strategy.

Through this process, a restructuring of the work of the Micah Secretariat was undertaken and, in particular, this has impacted the role of the international Director. With the significant changes envisioned by the Board, both with the new direction and the changed role of the lead person, the Board and Sheryl agreed this was a time for change in leadership. Sheryl will now step down as International Director of Micah Global.

We feel incredibly blessed to have had Sheryl serving as the Micah director for 10 years. With you, Sheryl has lead the Micah movement as we have dreamed and acted together towards God’s Mission.

Sheryl remains passionate about integral mission and will continue to pursue God’s Mission in and through all she says and does, looking forward to encountering members and all in Micah in the many platforms and spaces around the world. Please be praying for her during this time of transition. Please be assured, the important work of Micah Global will be continuing and we look forward to your continued participation.

This will be a new season and we anticipate all that God will do with and through Micah in the years ahead. It is so important to stand together in times of change and to prayerfully engage with one another to work together for our shared vision.

We will share more about the future work of Micah in the coming month, but if you have immediate questions please feel free to email Kennedy at and one of the Executive Committee will respond.

Grace and peace,

Kennedy Dhanabalan
Board Chair

Dear Micah

It has been an honour and a privilege to work with Micah and serve our growing membership. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes and hearts, and for the friendships formed and nurtured over this time. It is a taste of heaven that has been a great encouragement.

I was a member of Micah two years before I became the director and will continue to walk with Micah as a member as I step down from my role as director. I look forward to all that God has for Micah in the months and years ahead.

In the last few years I have felt a growing burden for good theological and practical teaching to be at the heart of church and community transformation, teaching that not only reaches believers, but is for all in the public square. Integral mission is such an important process and I am thrilled to see how much this has evolved around the world. I look forward with eager anticipation to see what my next steps will be.

A special thanks to the Micah Board and staff for the fellowship and trust given to me over the last ten years.

My prayer for Micah and myself is that God will give us all the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know him better. That the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which we have been called, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints and his incomparable great power for us who believe (Ephesians 1:17-18).
