MAP International is a member of the Micah Network
To enhance the capacity of members as they strive to make a biblical-shaped holistic response in our world through active engagement in relief, rehabilitation, development, environmental care, speaking out and standing for justice.
One of the core value adding reasons for joining Micah Network is that the interaction provided through the various platforms and communication media, gives members access to global learning, expertise and resource, thereby enhancing capacity of one another.
The evidence that integral mission is increasingly being accepted as both a theologically sound reality and a missional-centred practice is growing. But is it really being practiced? Our challenge is to strengthen our theological understanding and ensure this informs our practice. We have to address the question of the “how do we ensure our approach and our goals are transforming (through the lens of integral mission)?”
Membership with Micah Network requires the organisation / individual to commit to work towards our shared vision and mission. Micah Network in turn will commit to play a proactive role in equipping and strengthening members’ effectiveness, efficiency and impact.
• Facilitating events that provide platforms for consultation, training, shared learning and development of resources to improve practice:
• Commissioning research and dialogue around identified cross-cutting and thematic issues of concern:
• Learning and improving together:
• Solidarity: to stand and speak out for justice and mercy through our commitment to hold decision-makers and other people in power to account for their responsibilities towards the poor, oppressed and marginalised and protection of the vulnerable:
• Good Practice: as we are informed by our theology and equipped to serve in a real, relevant and competent way so as to play an effective part in transforming our communities.
