Grace, Faith and Good Works - A Biblical Reflection

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2: 8 – 10)
It is wonderful to be saved from our sins, to be forgiven and to have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, so that whoever believes in him, shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3: 16)
Then what? What are we saved for? Just to have eternal life?! Is God’s kingdom in a far-away place somewhere over the rainbow? What about now on this earth, where you and I are stuck to, held by gravity? What are we supposed to do after receiving this grace of God, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
